in which I talk about the Xbox 360

So I finally got around to getting an Xbox360 and picked up Mass Effect and Shenmue II.

I’m still getting used to the combat and camera controls on Mass Effect (I still can’t figure out how to duck while taking cover), but I’m really enjoying the game so far. I started with the solider class, however I’m trying to decide if I should restart to go with a vanguard instead. I almost feel overwhelmed with the choices the game offers. I’m also trying to decide if I should go with casual/easy difficulty setting just to get used to the game, or just go with the regular setting. Oh yeah, I also miss Nihlus already. Why did that have to happen? =(

I’m also not very far into Shenmue II, but I’m so happy that I can finally play this game! The first Shenmue game is still one of my favorite games ever and I remember getting sad that the second game wouldn't come out on Dreamcast in the US. Now I just need to get Jet Set Radio Future and it will be Dreamcast part 2 for me.

But, I don’t think I will be able to play much of these games for a while. My dad just bought Rock Band 2 and The Beatles Rock Band and he’s been really into it. My brother is going to buy a second guitar for it soon so any Xbox 360 gameplay is going to be centered on Rock Band until my dad and bother get tired of it.

Also, I need an SD memory card. I filled up my Wii with downloaded games and I don’t think I have enough space for even a simple game save file. Muramasa will have to wait, but I got Flower, Sun, & Rain for DS to keep me occupied.

2010, here we are.

So the new year is upon us, seems I started early. :) Moved out of the exs place in Nov, single again, independent and enjoying it. Stepping back, doing some searching and some healing. I love my job, tis a good one and I feel that I am helping people, LOL< I can't be a nurse the blood would just keel me over....some pirate heheheheh.

Life has handed me so many challenges, the biggest one that I have yet to achieve is a loving, lasting relationship. I feel that I have grown a great deal and hopefully with the time I'm taking I will find that one person who will be my other half....No frogs, no toads....neither when kissed turn into the Prince. I feel that as women we have been handed so many ideals and fallacies that it's a hard thing to break.

The knight in shining armor, the frog that turns into a Prince.................LOL, dreams that linger and haunt. I have many places to go, many things to do, I would like (not need) someone to share these things with.

I found out that the ex (Stephen) is now engaged, this points out two (well the two biggest things) things to me...one....which I knew and now it is confirmed that he was cheating on me. Ahhhh sweet liar that he be he has now gone on to lie to another and cause more discord. The second is, that some people will never stop and take the time to figure out what went wrong, what needs to be dealt with and go on to commit further disasters.

I am happy for him, I have not missed him one iota and have been enjoying the solitude of my own room and bed. Not like the person that was sleeping on the other side was providing any kind of physical, moral and mental support.

The new year, looks bright and full of hope and promise. I go forth joyfully and with anticipation of the new adventures that are out there.

Be well all, enjoy the New Year and be all that you can be and do not let others tell you who you are when they haven't a clue on who the heck they are.

Update List

Taking a 'list' cue from Manda. [ + is positive, - is negative, ~ is neutral. I think i added that last part.]

- The War of the Christmas Tree is still on.
+ It was very very mild this year. It helps that i decided i wasn't fighting it last year. Or something.
~ MK is still reconciling the price of it with his need for something perfect.

- No presents to unwrap again this year.
+ We are getting a media computer instead, specifically built for the TV so we can watch shows and play games on 52" of awesome.
~ It'll take a while for all of the parts to get here to -be- built.
+ Also getting new phones - the Motorola Droid.
- We decided to wait for our 'new every two' from Verizon, instead of upgrading for $100-$200 a piece.
~ Our account hits that status on March 1. It's only two more months of waiting.

+ Kittens still rock.
+ Happy fits are amazing. Snuggling while dozing off is amazing.
- They are growing into cats too quickly.

~ We wanted to build a cat tree for the cats, basically because they are spoiled.
+ Sherry brought us one of those circular kitty condos. They weren't crazy about it til we sprayed catnip into it.
+ Instead of building a tree, we put together shelves for them on the walls. You can see videos of them in my facebook/youtube accounts.
+ The cats like the shelves and are actually using them, although they aren't positive about the very high up ones. Odd, for cats.
+ The living room has a more 'homey' feel with the shelves up.
- We may have to more fully secure the pictures to the walls that are near the shelves so they don't get knocked down.

- Talis literally cannot stand up on his own anymore. Literally.
- He has some really bad days where we can see he's obviously hurting and depressed.
+ The rest of the time he's still stupid happy and -trying- to stand/go outside/etc.

+ Anubis' Addisons is under control.
- He -has- bitten Zen and Mystic, but didn't do any lasting damage. No vet trip required in either incident.
+ He takes his medication in a little roll of cheese so well it's amusing. We can't have grilled cheese without him thinking it's for him.
- He still has moody days, but the cats are learning when to avoid him.

- My depression is still in full swing. Zoloft -usually- helps, but i am still way under and am having 'staring at the ceiling' days.
- There are days when i can feel the bi-polar disorder and it's crazy insane mood swings. It really really sucks.
- Had my first full blown anxiety attack this week. It felt like my mind was coming apart at the seams.
+ MK was there for it and held me and helped me through it. [Clonazapam helped, too.]

+ Still looking forward to our cruise in October.
- It's too far off.
- I am pretty sure we'll be the only ones going.
~ Cruises are still awesome without a huge group of friends accompanying.

+ I've been spending a lot more time reading these past few months than i have in years.
+ It's good to get 'lost' in a fantasy world for a while.
~ I am materialistic and want to own the books i read.
- My habit has a tendency to get expensive.
+ We know of a used book store and an overstock bookstore where we can get books cheaply enough.
+ MK is supportive of my reading habit.

Christmas Cat Shelves

Instead of building or buying one of those cat trees, we decided to put together some shelves for the cats. There are six in total, all within jumping distance of one another and the plant shelf. I'll have to get a video or photo of the top two shelves -- they are way up there on the vaulted ceiling.

I just KNOW we've set ourselves up to be jumped on from above, though.
