6:56p If you feel compelled to get me Christmas gifts....
.... please don't?
But if you won't listen to my entreaties, you can always point yourself towards my Things I Want list. It's current, it has things ranging from ridiculously expensive (I do not expect anybody to buy me a Monfrotto tripod) to the very cheap (mmm, $7.99 blu-ray disc).
If people have tips for me, please share them.

11:39p I love my little brother
At 11:38 pm on a Thursday night, my brother started randomly texting me quotes from 'It.' Not the lame ones, either:
I believe in Santa Claus. I believe in The Easter Bunny. I believe in the Tooth Fairy. But I dont believe in you. This is battery acid. And now you disappear.
I am very much a fan of the random awesome text.

10:13p An email
To: Marianne Amssoms Subject: Getting Tennents Super in the US
Good evening, Miss Amssoms!
I normally wouldn't send this kind of request directly to the VP of global external communications of a multi-national corporation, but I wasn't able to find any way to contact anyone via email at the ab-inbev.com website.
Anyway, tonight I was reading a funny review of the film Harry Brown that mentioned Tennents Super (http://bina007.blogspot.com/2009/11/harry-brown-only-permissable-bigotry.html), and now I'd really like to try the stuff. I read on Wikipedia that Tennents is owned by In-Bev but, sadly, the Tennents website didn't seem to have any way to contact anyone via email, either. You should really talk to your IT people about that - it's kind of a big deal.
Regardless, do you have any idea where I can find Tennents Super here in the middle of the US? I'm in St. Louis, Missouri, right down the street from the Anheuser-Busch brewery as a matter of fact. How about places to order it online? If not, we can always work something out under the table - I can ship you some decent local microbrews or perhaps a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon or two (PBR is fairly popular around here and I understand you can't get it on that side of the pond).
Waddya say?

10:34p Holy cow, I think I did it
I opened the floodgates to UAT and the Internet at 2209, with just 8 hours left on the clock.
Thank the big router gods in the sky....!

4:02p Countdown
I have 13 hours to make the $EMPLOYER student management system go -- something we haven't been able to accomplish in the last 96 hours.

I got a job recently at Macy's and I had to work today. Wow, I'm glad Black Friday at Macy's was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, it even got slow where I was. I'm especially glad sine it was just my second day working there.

9:06p Oh noes! When you go to a large gathering of people you might get sick!
Already rumors are flying that somebody came to MFF 2009 with mumps. Of course there's a few objective thoughts to this... 1) It's an FA post. Hardly reputable reporting. 2) If it's true, it's only an issue to people that never got the MMR vaccine (let's not even go down the "vaccines are bad" path). 3) Why is this a surprise if it's true? Large gatherings of people from all over the continent or other continents offers the opportunity for cross-infection of things you wouldn't be exposed to if you were to stay home. Likewise with flying on a plane, or riding on a train, or on a cross-country bus trip.
Am I the only one who sees these things and goes "And the news here is... what, exactly?" Has everyone become a twenty-first century spaz?
